Smashing Pumpkins, Chris Stapleton to Headline Bipartisan America250 Concert

Following the backlash with the President Trump-backed Great American State Fair — where nearly all the acts dropped-off the lineup amid political concerns — the nonprofit bipartisan organization America250 revealed a concert on July 4 headlined by the Smashing Pumpkins and Chris Stapleton.

The event, dubbed America’s Block Party, will take place at 6 p.m. at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, hosted by Queen Latifah.

“As we celebrate our 250th anniversary, we have an opportunity to bring Americans together around the values that continue to unite us,” America250 chair Rosie Rios said.

Tickets will be available starting on Tuesday, June 16 for $17.76 via America250’s official website. All proceeds after fees will benefit Feeding America. Additionally, a total of 5,000 tickets will be donated to first responders, veterans, and active duty service members, who can claim tickets via VetTix.

America250, established in 2016, was created by the nonpartisan US Semiquincentennial Commission to oversee the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. However, Trump’s competing Freedom 250 organization was created in January 2025. Earlier this year, Freedom 250 revealed Trump’s Great American State Fair, set to feature half of Milli Vanilli, Vanilla Ice, Bret Michaels, Flo Rida, Morris Day & The Time, C+C Music Factory, Martina McBride, and The Commodores.

Nearly all of the acts dropped-off the lineup, aside from Vanilla Ice, citing concerns that the event would not be bipartisan. Trump has since announced that he would take the stage himself, taking place of “these highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists.'”

An adviser for Freedom 250 confirmed to The Washington Post that Trump will now kick-off the opening event for the festival on June 24, the day before the first musical act was set to perform. No further details regarding his attendance — nor how he will be “headlining” the event — has been revealed at this time.
