Shakira to Return to Egypt With Great Pyramids of Giza Concert

Shakira is set to return to Egypt for the first time in nearly two decades with a concert at the Great Pyramids of Giza on November 28. The performance will mark her first concert in the country since 2007, where she last performed at the same venue.

Ahead of her return, Shakira shared a message for fans, saying, “I’m very happy to be performing in Egypt, at the Pyramids of Giza. I love you all.”

The event is being presented by Egyptian entertainment company Venture Lifestyle, which has previously organized concerts across the Middle East featuring artists including Katy Perry, John Legend and Demi Lovato.

The Egypt performance was originally scheduled to take place as part of the Middle East leg of Shakira’s “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” tour in March and April. The itinerary also included stops in Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Those concerts were postponed following the outbreak of the 2026 Iran war at the end of February, prompting organizers to revise the tour schedule.

In announcing the new Egypt date, Venture Lifestyle said the concert will combine one of the world’s best-known pop stars with one of history’s most iconic locations.

“The November performance will put one of pop’s most recognisable figures amongst some of humanity’s most enduring landmarks,” the company said in a statement.

Before arriving in Egypt, Shakira is scheduled to perform in Qatar on November 18 at the 44,000-capacity 974 Stadium in Doha. The show will mark her first-ever performance in the country.

The revised schedule also aligns with the rescheduled Offlimits Music Festival in Abu Dhabi. Festival organizer Theory Eleven moved the event from its original April 4 date to November 21 after postponing the festival earlier this year.

Not every stop from the original Middle East itinerary has returned to the calendar. Organizers have said the Jordan concert remains postponed indefinitely.

Shakira will also no longer perform in Saudi Arabia, where she had been announced as the headliner for the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix’s post-race concert series. Both that race and the Bahrain Grand Prix were canceled entirely in April.

Beyond the Middle East, Shakira is scheduled to perform during the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium alongside Madonna, BTS and Justin Bieber.

The singer has also added a second round of dates to the U.S. leg of her tour. The arena run began June 13 with two consecutive performances at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, before continuing through cities including Palm Desert, Baltimore, Newark and Belmont Park. The North American leg is scheduled to wrap up July 25 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

In Spain, Shakira has also extended her Madrid residency. She is now set to perform 11 shows at the temporary 50,000-capacity Shakira Stadium on September 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27, followed by October 2, 3, 4, 10 and 11.
