Kansas City Athletics has entered into a new four-year agreement with Playfly Sports aimed at strengthening ticket sales, sponsorship efforts, and long-term revenue opportunities across the department.
The partnership will see Playfly provide strategic support to the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s athletic programs, with a particular focus on expanding ticketing operations and increasing corporate partnerships. In addition to overseeing those areas, the company will conduct an in-depth evaluation of pricing structures and sponsorship assets available across the Roos’ sports programs.
The initiative comes as the men’s basketball team prepares for a return to Municipal Auditorium, a move that university officials believe presents new opportunities to engage fans and grow attendance.
Dr. Brandon Martin, vice chancellor and director of athletics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, shared, “Our partnership with Playfly will be vital in our efforts to elevate tickets sales, sponsorships, and overall revenue-growth opportunities.”
“Playfly will offer new ways to maximize data, enhance the fan experience, and partner with us in taking the ‘Big LEAP’ with our transition to Municipal Auditorium, ” Martin continued. “In essence, our alliance with Playfly will ensure that KC Athletics is positioned for growth and sustained excellence in the ever-changing collegiate landscape.”
According to Playfly Sports, the company plans to implement new pricing models and establish a structure intended to generate increased revenue while improving the overall experience for fans attending events.
“Our expertise will bring a new pricing map and growth structure across Kansas City Athletics, particularly in the ticketed sports of men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball team,” said Joe Kronander, vice-president of client development at Playfly Sports.
“Our strategy and consulting teams provide a level of innovation — and results — that is unparalleled across the industry, and we are bringing that in full force to Kansas City.”
